THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored multiple runs in the first inning of both games and never trailed for a sweep of McDaniel. The Bullets took game one 5-3 before completing the sweep in five innings, 10-1.

THE LEADERS
• Megan Horsey (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) led the Green Terror with three hits, including two in the opener.

FOR THE FOES
• Meredith Taylor led the Bullets with five hits and six RBIs, including hitting a home run in each game.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the opener, Sarahrose Jonik singled up the middle to lead off the game before a Meredith Taylor took a one-out, 2-1 pitch over the centerfield fence for a 2-0 lead.
• A Jonik walk, stolen base and Taylor one-out single stretched the lead to 3-1 in the third before Taylor Doi poked a single up the middle with two outs for a 4-0 lead.
Kristina Shank (Mardela Springs, Md./Mardela) drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the inning before Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) reached on a one-out infield single. Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) drove a ball to the gap to score both runners and make it a 4-2 game. Megan Horsey followed with a single to plate Coyle and trim the margin to one.
• A walk to Nicole Farese and two0-out Rachel Julie double pushed the lead to 5-3 in the sixth.
• McDaniel loaded the bases in the sixth and had two on in the seventh but could not score.
• In game two, Jonik, Julie and Taylor all singled to lead off the game, staking the Bullets to a 1-0 lead. Emily Colline then blasted the first pitch she saw over the fence in right-center for a 4-0 lead.
• A Taylor two-run home run, doubles from Colline and Shelby Baker keyed a six-run fifth inning that made it a 10-0 game.
• Madison Froemel (Suffolk, Va./Kings Fork) led off the home fifth with a single before a Raegan Jackson (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) pinch-hit single put runners at first and second. A one-out dropped fly ball loaded the bases before Froemel scored on a groundout to break up the shutout but Skylar Spinner got her seventh ground ball out for the run-rule win.

THE INSIDE STORY
Michaela Persinger extended her hitting streak to 12 games in the opener but went 0-for-1 with a walk in game two to have the hitting streak snapped.
