THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel established a new program record for runs in the opener before working efficiently to complete the sweep of Gallaudet. The Green Terror won the opener 35-6 before taking game two, 3-1.

THE LEADERS
• Mattie Whalen (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling) led the Green Terror with two hits and seven RBIs in game one. She also scored three runs and had a grand slam.
• Madison Froemel (Suffolk, Va./Kings Fork) added a hit, four runs scored and five RBIs.
• Alicia Wagner (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) had three hits, four RBIs and three runs scored on the day.
• Melinda Morgan (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) chipped in four RBIs and two runs scored to go with two hits on the day.
• Melissa Marini (Catonsville, Md./ George Washington Carver Center For the Arts and Technology) had two hits, two runs and an RBI.
• Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) rounded out the multiple-hit outings in game one with two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored.
• Miranda Thompson (Columbia, Md./Atholton) added three RBIs.

FOR THE FOES
• Kendall Hudson and Hannah Neild led the Bison with three hits and two RBIs each.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Megan Horsey (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) singled up the middle with one out before stealing second. Michaela Persinger walked before Tori Wilkins (Lutz, Fla./Land O'Lakes) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Alicia Wagner followed with a single through the right side for a 2-0 lead. After she stole second, Megan Coyle walked to reload the bases. A Haley Michael (Oldsmar, Fla./East Lake) RBI groundout and Madison Froemel two-run single staked McDaniel to a 5-0 lead.
• Thirteen walks and a hit batsman keyed a 17-run second inning that made it a 22-0 game. Mattie Whelan – the seventh hitter of the inning hit a grand slam to left to make it a 12-0 game. Persinger, Wagner and Coyle all had doubles in the frame.
• A walk, hit batter and Kendall Hudson double made it a 22-2 game in the bottom of the second.
• An error opened the door for a four-run third for a 26-2 lead.
• After three infield hits and a walk, Hannah Neild dropped a two-out single into left to make it a 26-6 game.
• Another six walks, hit batter and two errors led to nine runs in the fifth. Melinda Morgan recorded her first collegiate hit – a two-run single – in the inning.
• In game two, Hailey Henshaw led off the bottom of the first with a single before a two-out Neild put runners at first and second. After a wild pitch, Henshaw scored on a Jacklyn Zacarias groundout for a 1-0 lead.
• Wagner doubled with one out in the second before scoring on a Coyle single to right to tie the game.
• Morgan doubled with one out in the third before hit batter and wild pitch with two outs allowed Morgan to score for the lead. Wilkins used heads-up baserunning as well to swipe home for a 3-1 advantage.`

THE INSIDE STORY
• The 35 runs is the most in a single game in Green Terror softball history. The previous best mark was 31 against Washington in 1985. It is the second most in a game in Centennial Conference history. Dickinson scored 38 against Massachusetts Pharmacy in 2000.
• Mattie Whalen's seven RBIs in game one was one shy of the program record. Her first hit of the day was also her first collegiate home run – a grand slam.
• Melinda Morgan, Melissa Marini, Madison Froemel and Keilani Rebollo (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) all had their first collegiate hits in game one.
• Krista Waller (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) threw three innings with four strikeouts to pick up her first collegiate win in the circle. She also started game two with two Ks in two innings.
• Game two was called after five innings due to darkness.
