THE SKINNY STORY
Moravian scored a first-quarter defensive touchdown and added a nine-yard running score in the third quarter for 14-9 victory. In a wet, defensive battle, neither offense could muster more than 200 yards of total offense.

THE LEADERS
• Joey Cornwell (Rockville, Md./Rockville) punted the ball a career-high 11 times, averaging 39.9 yards per boot that included a career-long 59 yarder.
• Jarius Ransom (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) led the defense with 12 tackles, including three for loss.
• Nah'shon Godfrey (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) added a career-best 10 tackles.
• John Chamberlin (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) led the offense with 63 rushing yards on 16 carries that included ripping off a 52-yarder in the first quarter.

FOR THE FOES
• Nick Petros matched Cornwell with 11 punts but averaged just 29.7 yards on his boots.
• Doug Erney rushed for 49 yards on 11 carries and threw for another 70, completing 5 of 15 attempts.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• McDaniel took advantage of the 52-yard John Chamberlin run on the first play of its second drive. A face mask penalty tacked on another 15 yards before Peyton Denlinger (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) connected on a season-best 37-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead with 9:01 to play in the first quarter.
• With the Green Terror backed up inside the five-yard line, Shane Mastro forced a fumble – one of four on the afternoon – and Jackson Buskirk scooped it up and scored for a 7-3 lead with 1:38 to play.
• From there, neither offense could muster anything until Nick Tone fell on an errant snap to give the Greyhounds the ball at the McDaniel 32 with 4:25 to play in the third quarter. Three plays later, Doug Erney found the end zone on a nine-yard run.
• Tyler Palermiti (Hudson, Fla./Dunedin) engineered an eight-play drive that finished with a touchdown pass to Breon Herbert (Silver Spring, Md./Blake) in the corner of the end zone with 1:05 to play. The ensuing two-point conversion was no good to keep it a 14-9 game and Moravian recovered the onside kick to preserve the win.

THE INSIDE STORY
• The 11 punts by Joey Cornwell were the most by a Green Terror punter since 2004.
• There were just 19 first downs (10-9 Moravian) and 22 punts in the game.
• The teams combined for just 330 yards of total offense (Greyhounds, 181-149).
