Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WESTMISNTER, Md. – Gettysburg used three multiple-run innings to key a sweep of McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) softball action on Thursday.

The Bullets (7-9, 4-0 CC) took the opener 5-2 before completing the sweep 5-3 to remain as the only team undefeated in conference play.

Carly Deichman (Easton, Pa./Freedom) led the Green Terror (9-13, 3-3 CC) with six hits on the day, posting three hits in both games.

Brooke Studnik led Gettysburg with three hits on the afternoon.

Trailing 2-1 in game one, Meredith Taylor drew a walk before giving way to pinch-runner Nicole Farese.

A Shelby Baker single to the gap put runners at the corners before Studnik poked a single through the right side to tie the game.

Rachel Julie followed with a single up the middle to plate Baker for a 3-2 lead.

A Stephanie Leonardo RBI single and Sarahrose Jonik sacrifice fly capped the four-run inning.

A Jonik walk, Sophia Blasius sacrifice and Studnik two-out single up the middle staked the Bullets to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

Payton Lewis (Valrico, Fla./Durant) was hit by a pitch to lead off the home second. With one out, Alicia Wagner (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) beat out a short, high popup and Deichman singles through the left side to tie the game.

A fielding error and bases-loaded hit batter gave McDaniel a 2-1 lead.

In the nightcap, Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) drew a one-out walk in the second before Deichman poked a single into right.

With two outs, Wagner floated a ball into shallow left, plating both runners for a 2-0 lead.

Three straight hits, including a bunt hit by Julie, loaded the bases for the Bullets in the fourth.

After a sacrifice fly cut the deficit in half with runners at the corners, Gettysburg executed a first-third double steal to tie the game.

Liz Cowell led off the sixth with a double before a pair of walks loaded the bases.

A bases-loaded walk and pair of wild pitches gave the Bullets a 5-2 lead.

After the Green Terror stranded the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) drew a leadoff walk in the seventh. After taking second on a fly ball, a Coyle single put runners at the corners.

Deichman followed with an RBI knock to draw the hosts within two with the tying run on base and two outs. Morgan Clauser, however, got a fly ball to wrap up the win.

Coyle joined Deichman with three hits in game two.

McDaniel's scheduled doubleheader at Washington (Md.) has been postponed due to the forecast for poor weather in Chestertown. The Green Terror returns to action at home against Stevenson on Sundday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
