Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – McDaniel dropped a pair of game at the Rebel Spring Games in non-conference softball action on Monday.

The Green Terror (3-5) dropped a 13-1 decision to No. 12 Trine in five innings before falling to Transylvania, 8-3.

Payton Lewis (Valrico, Fla./Durant) led McDaniel with four hits on the day, including a three-hit performance in the nightcap.

The Thunder (7-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Erica Robles reached on an infield single before Makenna Hartline drew a walk. Nicole Ferraro followed with a three-run home run to straightaway center field for a 3-0 lead.

Michaela Hartline led off the second with a single before scoring on a two-out error for a 4-0 lead.

The Green Terror got that single run back in the bottom of the inning. Jamie Weisser (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) and Roxana Aviles (Manassas, Va./Osbourne) drew walks around an Olivia Kipe (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) single. After a fielder's choice, Lindsey Miller (Gettysburg, Pa./New Oxford) plated Kipe with a sacrifice fly.

An error in the third opened the door for a six-run frame. Makenna Hartline had the big hit, delivering a two-out, two-run double to the gap.

Home runs from Hartline and Kaylee Fox in the fifth set the final margin.

In game two, the Pioneers (5-3) scored five times in the bottom of the first inning to catapult themselves to the victory.

Janelle Hynes reached on an infield single before Shelby Bailey sent a line drive up the middle that was nearly snagged.

Shelbi Poehlein dropped a ball into shallow right field just out of the reach of a driving fielder to load the bases.

Meg Liter laced a ball into left field that rolled to fence, clearing the bases for a three-run triple.

After a walk, back-to-back squeeze plays resulted in two more runs after both Liter and Renae Morton beat the throws home.

A Lewis one-out double in the sixth coupled with a wild pitch and Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gordon) sacrifice fly made it a 5-1 game.

Transylvania took advantage of an error and Hynes two-run single up the middle to stretch the lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the inning.

Cricket Lowe (Big Fork, Mont./Magruder [Md.]) dropped a one-out single into left field for her first hit before Weisser cranked a two-out home run to center field to set the final margin.

The Green Terror returns to action against Illinois College and No. 9 Rowan on Wednesday. The first game begins at 1:30 p.m.
