TOURNAMENT HOME PAGE

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel will travel to Salisbury, Md., for the 2015 NCAA Division III softball regional, beginning on Friday.

Playing on the SU Softball Field on the campus of Salisbury, the third-seeded Green Terror (29-10) will play in one of two three-team regionals.

McDaniel will face top-seeded Salisbury (30-6) in the first game on Friday at 11 a.m. The Green Terror will then face second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan (29-6) in the day's second game at approximately 1:30 p.m. The first day will conclude at approximately 4 p.m. with the matchup between the Sea Gulls and Marlins.

Saturday's schedule will be determined based on the results of Friday's round-robin play. If one team goes 0-2 on day one, the two remaining teams will square off in Saturday's first game. If the 1-1 team defeats the 2-0 day, a second game will be necessary. If all three teams go 1-1 on Friday, McDaniel and Virginia Wesleyan will play again to start the day with the winner facing Salisbury.

The regional champion will advance to the super regionals on May 15-16 and take on the winner of the Christopher Newport regional in a best-of-3 series for a bid in the Division III Women's College World Series, to be played at the Moyer Complex in Salem, Va., on May 21-26.

Admission to the regional is $5 for general admission and $2 for students, senior citizens and children. All-session passes are available for $10 for general admission and $4 for students, senior citizens and children.

McDaniel is making its fifth NCAA tournament appearance after winning its seventh Centennial Conference (CC) championship on Sunday. The Green Terror defeated Gettysburg 2-1 in nine innings in the title game.

Senior Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) leads the CC with 231 strikeouts. She has fanned an average of 8.42 batters per game over her 192 innings of work. She has allowed just 111 hits and 33 walks and has two no-hitters to her credit this season, including one in the opening round of the CC tournament against Muhlenberg.

Seven of the hitters in the Green Terror starting lineup are hitting .302 or better this season led by Jamie Weisser's (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) .393 average. Weisser has 42 hits, including six doubles and six home runs for a .673 slugging percentage. Freshman Payton Lewis (Valrico, Fla./Durant) has a .389 average with 42 hits that includes six doubles.
