WESTMINSTER, Md. – After being held scoreless for 13 innings, McDaniel scored four runs in its final two at bats to salvage a doubleheader split with Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) softball action on Saturday.

Emily Sneeringer (Hanover, Pa./South Western) led the Green Terror (11-9, 3-3 CC) with three hits, including the walkoff home run in the bottom of the eighth inning for a 4-2 win in game two. The Mules (14-4, 6-2 CC) took advantage of an unearned run in the first inning for a 1-0 victory.

Alyssa Schell had two hits in the opener for Muhlenberg.

Trailing 2-0, Stacey Armacost (Glenville, Pa./South Western) led off the bottom of the seventh with a single before a popup gave the Mules one out.

A Caitlin Justice (Stuart, Fla./Jensen Beach) single followed by a popup put two runners on base with two outs.

Rachel Sidney (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) followed with a triple into the right-field corner to score both runners and tie the game.

McDaniel worked around a two-out walk in to the top of the eighth before Stephanie Maring (Woodbine, Md./South Carroll) led off the bottom of the eight with a single.

With one out, Sneeringer went yard for the victory.

Muhlenberg scored its two runs in the top of the sixth inning. A dropped popup with two outs extended the inning and Brittany Dzieciolowski hit a two-run home run for the lead.

In game one, Erica Wenzel drew a one-out walk before a Kelly Kline double put runners at second and third.

With two outs, a passed ball allowed Wenzel to score with what turned out to be the lone run of the game.

Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) finished the day with 20 strikeouts, fanning nine in the opener and 11 in game two.

McDaniel returns to action at homes against Swarthmore on Sunday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 1:30 p.m.
