Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel allowed just three hits in a doubleheader sweep of Bridgewater in non-conference softball action on Friday.

Sam Stitely (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) notched four hits in the twinbill to lead the Green Terror (20-10), who took game one 3-0 before completing the sweep, 2-0.

Brea Hinegardner led the Eagles (18-17-1) with two of the squad's three hits.

After working out of a bases-loaded one-out jam in the first inning of game one, Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) faced just six batters over the minimum through the next 13 2/3 innings.

Stacey Armacost (Glenville, Pa./South Western) led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a single up the middle before Emily Sneeringer (Hanover, Pa./South Western) was hit by the next pitch to put runners at first and second.

A Stitely single loaded the bases before a Caitlin Justice (Stuart, Fla./Jensen Beach) single plated Armacost for a 1-0 lead.

Oliva Kipe (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) worked a walk to force in Sneeringer for a 2-0 lead.

Stitely led off the sixth with a single before being erased on a fielder's choice.

Kipe roped a one-out double to right to put runners at second and third.

Ally Galati (Milford, Pa./Cornwall Central) poked a single through the left side to plate Justice for a 3-0 lead.

Galati finished game one with two hits while Stitely had three of her four in the opener.

Brehm fanned 11 in game two.

In game two, Amy Baumgardner (Hanover, Pa./South Western) was hit by a two-out pitch in the fifth inning before Stephanie Maring (Woodbine, Md./South Carroll) roped a double with Baumgardner in motion for a 1-0 lead.

Jackie Liebowitz (Bellerose, N.Y./Benjamin N. Cardozo) followed with a ball to third base that bounced hard to the left, allowing Maring to score for a 2-0 lead.

Brehm fanned eight in the nightcap.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
