Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – McDaniel scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning to break open game two en route to a 10-1 victory, forging a doubleheader split with Mary Washington in non-conference softball action on Sunday.

Sam Stitely (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) led the Green Terror (3-1) in the nightcap win, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Hannah Otterman led the Eagles (3-2) in game one, striking out seven in a 2-1 victory in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Trailing 1-0 after a Hannah Williams scored Grace Henry, who led off the second inning with an infield single, with a base hit to center, Laura Mertz (Gillette, N.J./Watchung Hills) drew a two-out walk in the top of the third.

After a stolen base and wild pitch moved her to third base, she was able to score on a Rachel Sidney (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) infield single to knot the game at 1-all.

Stephanie Maring (Woodbine, Md./South Carroll) drew a walk to lead off the fourth inning before a Jackie Liebowitz (Bellerose, N.Y./Benjamin N. Cardozo) single put runners at first and second.

Taylor Fletcher (Linden, Va./Fauquier) followed with an RBI single to score Maring and chase the Mary Washington starter.

Lauren Stricker (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) greeted the new pitcher with a double to score Liebowitz before a Stitely single down the left-field line sored Fletcher for a 4-1 advantage.

A Caitlin Justice (Stuart, Fla./Jensen Beach) sacrifice fly plated Stricker before Sidney doubled home Stitely with two outs.

Sidney stole third and back-to-back walks to Ally Galati (Milford, Pa./Cornwall Central) and Maring loaded the bases. A wild pitch allowed Sidney to score for a 7-1 lead.

A Fletcher single started a two-out rally in the seventh inning that extended the lead.

Stricker followed with a double before a Stitely two-bagger scored pinch-runner Amy Baumgardner (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and Stricker for a 9-1 lead.

A Mertz RBI single plated Stitely for the final margin.

The Green Terror took an early 1-0 lead in the opener on a Stricker home run to lead off the top of the second inning.

Bireet Chitty doubled with one out in the second before scoring on a Brittany Scites single one batter later to knot the game.

Tied going to the bottom of the seventh, Olivia Tatara reached second on an error to lead off the frame before she was able to take third on a fly-ball out.

After a fielder's choice erased the runner at home for the second out, a second error allowed Alex Tennney to score the game-winner.

Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) pitched both ends of the doubleheader, recording 13 strikeouts.

Stricker added three hits, including two in the nightcap. Galati and Maring had two hits each in game one while Sidney and Fletcher added two knocks in game two.

McDaniel returns to action when it opens the 11-game trip to the Dot Richardson Spring Games. The trip opens against Western New England on Sunday at 5 p.m. The Green Terror will also play Ramapo at 7 p.m.
