Box Score Wesley scores twice to overcome deficit, down McDaniel
DOVER, Del. – Wesley scored a pair of goals 45 seconds apart to down McDaniel 2-1 in non-conference women's soccer action on Saturday.
Sam Wilson (New Castle, Colo./Coal Ridge) staked the Green Terror (0-2) to a first-half lead before the Wolverines (2-1) scored twice in the second half for the victory.
Kelly Edmonds had a goal and an assist for the hosts, who also got 17 saves from goalkeeper Sydney Kahan. Wesley, which turned back all 15 second-half McDaniel shots on the cage, also had two team saves.
In the 64th minute, Edmonds found Kim Feambach to knot the game at 1-all before Edmonds finished a solo run at the 64:07 mark.
Wilson finished off a Becky Newman (Lexington, Mass./Lexington) corner kick at the 31:38 mark, giving the Green Terror a first-half advantage.
McDaniel finished with a 25-8 advantage in shots and 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
Jan Woolley (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made four saves for the Green Terror.
McDaniel returns to action in the Centennial Conference opener at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.
