LANCASTER, Pa. - McDaniel College women's soccer sophomore
Sierra Ruehl was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
It is the first career honor for Ruehl and the second-straight for the Green Terror after first-year
Hariette Ngwatung was named Offensive Player of the Week on October 6. Ruehl is the first Green Terror to be named conference defensive player of the week since senior

The Green Terror have had nine conference defensive player of the week selections in the last six seasons. During that time, the team has posted 65 shutouts in 112 games, allowing opponents just 75 goals for an average of only 0.67 per game.
Ruehl posted two shutouts in two Centennial Conference victories last week as she totaled seven saves for a 0.00 goals-against average and a perfect 1.000 save percentage. On Wednesday, she made four saves in a scoreless tie with Franklin & Marshall at home and on Saturday, she helped extend McDaniel's unbeaten streak to five with three saves in a 1-0 road win at Muhlenberg.
Six of Ruehl's seven wins this season have come by shutout as she is tied for the league lead in shutouts. She is also fourth in the conference in saves, sixth in save percentage, and seventh in goal-against average. McDaniel is 4-0-2 in six home games this season and has allowed just one goal, outscoring its opponents, 10-1.
The Green Terror travel to Washington College on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. in-state showdown with the Shorewomen.
