NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - McDaniel College women's lacrosse senior
Kat Thayer has been selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Senior All-Star Game on Saturday, May 30.
The game will take place at 10 a.m. on Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. prior to the Division I game at 12:30 p.m. and the Division II contest at 3 p.m. Admission for all three games is free.
Thayer is the third Green Terror to be selected in the last eight years, joining Lindsay Farrell (2019) and Emma Miller (2024). Thayer will wear No. 13 and play for the Blue Team led by head coach Jessica Smith from Allegheny College. They will take on the White Team led by head coach Meghan McDonogh from Catholic University.
Thayer was a USA Lacrosse Division III All-America Honorable Mention and All-Centennial Conference Second Team selection this season. She led the team with 36 goals, 20 assists, 56 points, 57 ground balls, and 60 draw controls. She also ranked second with 26 caused turnovers. Her 26 caused turnovers were the seventh-most in a single-season in program history and her 57 ground balls were the third-most.
Thayer led the conference in ground balls per game, ranked eighth in caused turnovers per game, ninth in draw controls per game, and 11th in points per game.
For her career, Thayer was a two-time all-conference selection who totaled 113 goals, 66 assists, 179 points, 136 ground balls, a program-record 85 caused turnovers, and 185 draw controls in 67 career games. She is ranked sixth in program history in ground balls, sixth in draw controls, ninth in, and 15th in goals.
Thayer graduated with honors from McDaniel on May 23 with a bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration and minors in Art and Sports Management.
