Berigan Selected to 2026 WBCA Thirty Under 30 Program

ATLANTA, Ga. - McDaniel College women's basketball assistant coach Maggie Berigan was named to the Thirty Under 30 program by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Tuesday.

The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude and professional association involvement.

Berigan just completed her fourth season at McDaniel under head coach Christin Gowan. The Green Terror have increased their win total each season, improving from nine wins in 2022-23 to 22 wins and the team's first 20-win season in 10 years in 2025-26. The team has made back-to-back appearances in the Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Championship and earned the top-seed in the ECAC Division III Women's Basketball Championship in 2025 and 2026, winning the title this year.

Berigan conducts individual skill development and film review with the team, recruiting and coaching All-American and 2026 Centennial Conference Player of the Year, Elaina Beckett, and 2024 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year, Teya McConnaha.

Off the court, Berigan provides academic support and individually mentors' student-athletes. In 2025, the WBCA recognized McDaniel as an Academic Top 25 Team of special mention for the third consecutive year with a team grade-point average of 3.620.

Prior to McDaniel, Berigan spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Indianapolis during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.

Berigan played four seasons at Carthage College from 2016-20, appearing in 101 games while making 36 starts. She totaled 582 points and 460 rebounds while ranking fourth in program history with 139 blocks. She was a three-time College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Winter Academic All-Conference selection.

Berigan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carthage with a bachelor's degree in communication and a minor in Educational Studies in 2020. She earned a master's degree in Sport Management from UIndy in 2022.
