SPARKS, Md. - McDaniel College women's lacrosse senior
Kat Thayer was selected as a
USA Lacrosse Division III Women's 2026 Preseason All-American on Tuesday.
A total of 89 players from across the nation were honored. Preseason All-Americans were selected by
USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from collegiate coaches.
Thayer was an All-Centennial Conference Second Team selection last season, finishing as the team's leader in goals (38), assists (25), points (63), ground balls (38), caused turnovers (25), and draw controls (65). She is believed to be the first person in program history to lead the team in each major statistical category.
Thayer ranked fourth in the conference in caused turnovers, fifth in ground balls, ninth in the conference in points and 10th in assists. She also ranks 11th in draw controls and 13th in goals.
The Green Terror have had six All-American selections in the team's history with the last coming in 2013.
McDaniel opens the season on Saturday, February 14 at DeSales. The team makes its home debut on Saturday, February 21 versus Randolph-Macon.
