WESTMINSTER, Md. - Tayton Barrett stopped a free-position shot with six seconds remaining to lift Hood to a 13-12 come-from-behind victory over the McDaniel College women's lacrosse team on Wednesday inside Gill Stadium.
The Green Terror (1-3) led 6-3 before the Blazers scored three unanswered goals to tie the game for the first time with 13:55 remaining in the third quarter.
The game featured five ties and one lead change with Hood taking its first lead of the game with Rachel Harper scoring her second of back-to-back goals to give the visitors an 11-10 advantage with 10:58 left in the fourth quarter.
The Blazers (1-2) scored five of the game's final seven goals, including four of six in the fourth quarter, to rally for their first win of the season, despite allowing 36 shots and committing 18 turnovers.
Barrett totaled nine of her 12 saves over the final three quarters as Hood outscored McDaniel 10-8 after trailing 4-3 after the first.
After junior
Emily Conklin scored her third goal to tie the game for the fifth and final time at 11-11 with just under 11 minutes to play, the Blazers scored back-to-back, capped by Maggie Merrill's fourth with 4:53 left.

Kat Thayer scored her sixth goal of the game just 35 seconds later before winning the ensuing draw control. With a chance to tie the game, the Green Terror turned the ball over and Harper hit the post before Conklin was able to regain possession for McDaniel with her third caused turnover of the game.
Hood was whistled for a green card with just over one minute remaining, giving the Green Terror a chance to tie the game again with the player advantage. First-yearÂ

Olivia Foulke with 11 seconds left was saved by Barrett.
Senior
Addison Utterback picked up the ground ball and a foul by the Blazers' Mia Treney gave Foulke a free-position attempt with six seconds to play.
However, Barrett was able to make the save on the shot to give Hood its first win in 11 meetings against the Green Terror.
Thayer tied her career-high with six goals while adding one assist for seven points. She also had six goals in a 15-14 win at Hood almost one year ago to the day on Feb. 26, 2025 in 15-14 McDaniel win. She had four assists in that game for a career-best 10 points.
Conklin had three goals, one assist, four ground balls, three caused turnovers, and three draw controls while Thayer had five draw controls. Utterback had one goal and one assist.
McDaniel had 12 caused turnovers, one shy of its season high against Randolph-Macon, while both teams had 13 draw controls.
Senior
Caleigh Kohr made five saves in her fourth start this season. She now has 283 for her career.
McDaniel heads to Bridgewater on Saturday for a 1 p.m. non-conference contest. The Green Terror have won all four of the previous meetings with the Eagles.
