NEW ORLEANS, La. - On Monday, the McDaniel College women's track & field team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an All-Academic Team for the third-straight year.
To be honored as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, a team must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.1 or higher through the spring semester.
Sophomore
Sophia Leone broke the school record in the pole vault to lead Green Terror at the 2025 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. She crushed her own program record to earn the bronze medal with a mark of 3.32m (10' 10.75"). Freshman
Tara Hornung placed ninth in the pole vault at South Region Final Qualifier with a mark of 2.88m (9-5.25) to move into fourth in program history.
Leone earned All-Centennial Conference Second Team honors at the 2025 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships after placing second with a mark of 3.30m (10' 10") to surpass her previous program record for the fourth time. Anna Rando won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.69 seconds.
