INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - It was announced on Tuesday that McDaniel College baseball sophomore Shea McKenna has been selected to the Division III National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

The Division III National SAAC is a representative body composed of 43 student-athletes from across the country who serve as the national voice for their peers within NCAA Division III. This committee plays a critical role in shaping the student-athlete experience by offering feedback on proposed legislation, engaging in meaningful dialogue with NCAA leadership, and participating in governance processes.

Through regular meetings and active involvement in subcommittees and association-wide initiatives, Division III SAAC members advocate for positive change, foster education, and build a supportive and inclusive athletic community.

As a member of the Division III National SAAC, McKenna will participate in four quarterly meetings to discuss various topics, including proposed legislation and current issues impacting student-athletes. Members serve on both Division III and association-wide committees to provide the student-athlete perspective. Their impact extends beyond the playing field, as they work to protect and enhance the student-athlete experience through education, service, and national advocacy.

McKenna just finished his second season on the Green Terror baseball team. A two-time All-Centennial Conference Second Team selection and 2024 Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year, he has appeared in and started 78 of the team's 80 games while hitting .366 with 111 hits, including 60 this spring, fifth-most in a single season in program history.
