COLLEGEVILLE Pa. - Senior Oral-Anthony Coleman placed second in the long jump to lead the McDaniel College men's track & field team at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Ursinus on Saturday.
The Green Terror currently sit in eighth place with 16 points. Only 20 points separate third through eighth place. Ursinus leads with 93 points, two ahead of Johns Hopkins.
Coleman posted the sixth-best long jump mark in program history at 6.85m (22' 5.75"). Senior Alex Brown placed 11th with a mark of 6.30m (20' 8") while junior Christian Homer placed 13th with a mark of 6.01m (19' 8.75").
Senior Kyle Hubbard ran a time of 15.64 seconds in the 110-meter hurdle prelims, placing second. This moves him into 10th in program history. Sophomore Roman Arensmeyer placed eighth with a time of 16.46 seconds as both advanced to the finals.
Hubbard also advances to the finals in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.74 seconds in the prelims to place second. Arensmeyer placed 14th with a time of 1:03.84 and senior Sean Irwin crossed the line in 1:07.67 to place 16th.
Coleman placed third in the 100 meter prelims in a time of 10.81 seconds to advance to the finals with the second-fastest time in program history. Sophomore Seyi Adelaja placed 26th with a time of 11.62 seconds.
Graduate student Chett Brunner placed fifth in the discus with a mark of 42.94m (140' 10") and senior Jacob Graham placed ninth with a mark of 35.87m (117' 8"). Sophomore Jamey Travers placed 12th with a mark of 34.94m (114' 7").
Senior Jack Reiser placed sixth in the 800 meter prelims with a time of 1:55.89 to advances to the finals. He also moved into fifth in program history. Graduate student Tyler Richardson placed 11th with a time of 1:57.41, moving into 10th in program history. Senior Anders Madsen ran a time of 2:07.83 to place 19th.
Brown placed seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.78m (5' 10") and Homer placed 12th with a mark of 1.63m (5' 4.25").
The 4x800-meter relay team of Madsen, Richardson, Reiser, and junior Ethan Bush placed 11th with a time of 8:06.28.
Coleman placed ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.38 seconds. Adelaja placed 23rd with a time of 23.51 seconds and freshman Jaymani Chin-Marcelle ran a time of 23.60 seconds to place 24th. Junior Armani Moya-Moore had a time of 23.74 to place 27th.
Bush placed ninth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.81 seconds. Moya-Moore crossed the line in 53.81 seconds to place 18th with Chin-Marcelle right behind in 19th with a time of 54.24 seconds.
Graduate student Nick Raumann placed 13th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:44.03.
The final day of competition at the conference meet gets underway at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
