WESTMINSTER, Md. - The fourth-seeded McDaniel College baseball team will make its sixth Centennial Conference Baseball Championship appearance and second-straight on Tuesday when it hosts fifth-seed Gettysburg at Preston Field beginning at 3 p.m.
Tuesday will mark the first home game in the conference tournament for the Green Terror since May 2, 2003.
McDaniel (18-20-1) has won three of the last four meetings in the series dating back to last season. The two teams will meet for the third time this season with each winning on the other's home field. McDaniel won 12-11 at No. 23 Gettysburg on April 15 while the 28th-ranked Bullets won at McDaniel, 21-17 on April 18.
Junior
Ben Davis and sophomore
Shea McKenna hit .667 in two meetings against Gettysburg (30-10) this season as each went 6-for-9 with two walks. Davis had two doubles and three RBIs while McKenna had a triple and two RBIs. Sophomore
Quinn Dean hit .455 with five hits, including a double and two triples, while driving in six.
Senior
Conor Henderson went 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA in two appearances against the Bullets this season, allowing just one run on four hits over 5.2 innings while striking out three.
As a team, McDaniel hit .435, including .488 with runners in scoring position while Gettysburg left 28 runners on base.
The winner will advance to top-seeded and No. 2-ranked Johns Hopkins on Thursday with first pitch set for 3 p.m.
