Ryder, Eichenlaub Post First Doubles Win in 5-2 Loss to Ferrum

Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior Drew Ryder and junior Sylvan Eichenlaub won their first doubles match of the spring as the McDaniel College men's tennis team fell to Ferrum on Sunday on the Warfield Tennis Courts, 5-2.

The Green Terror (2-8) posted wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 4 singles.

Ryder and Eichenlaub edged out a hard fought 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles, but the Panthers earned the point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

At No. 4 singles, senior Quinn Dietsche posted a 6-4 win in the first set before taking the second by an impressive 6-0 score.

Senior Parth Shah opened with a 6-4 win at No. 5 singles before dropping the second by the same score. In the tiebreaker, he was able to claim a 12-10 victory, giving the team its second point.

The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, March 8 at Muhlenberg. First serve is at noon.
