Teaghen Rieder were named Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Friday.
The NFHCA Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.9 or higher through the fall 2024 semester.
McArthur and Myers were two of 100 honorees in Division III who earned this distinction for the fourth consecutive year.
An All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention selection this season, McArthur is an education major with a 3.963 GPA. She was also named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team twice. She was one of just three players to start all 17 of the team's games in 2024 while adding a career-high three points with one goal and one assist.
Myers is a political science major with a 3.946 GPA who appeared in 15 of the team's games this past fall while making 10 starts and totaling three points with one goal and one assist.
Washburn was honored as a Scholar of Distinction for the second year in-a-row. She has a 3.945 GPA as a kinesiology major. After missing the 2023 season due to injury, she appeared in 16 games with 16 starts, also totaling three points and three defensive saves
Rieder started all 17 games and played all 1,020 minutes in goal in her first collegiate season. An international business major, she has a 3.925 GPA and had 110 saves with a .640 save percentage. She made 10 or more saves in a game five times, including a career-high 13 at Haverford on Oct. 26, 2024.
This fall, more than 550 student-athletes from more than 135 institutions were recognized as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction in Division III.
