Men's Soccer Selected to Second-Straight ECAC Championship

DANBURY, Conn. - The McDaniel College men's soccer team was one of 10 teams selected to the 2025 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Monday.

The top-seed in Pod 3, the Green Terror (9-5-4) will host second-seeded Juniata on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.

McDaniel will be making its second consecutive postseason appearance and fourth in the last eight seasons under head coach Steve Corrieri. It will also mark the program's ninth ECAC tournament appearance after the team also made appearances in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2017, 2019, and 2024.

Last year, the team posted a 2-0 victory over Harford in the first round before falling to host Juniata in the semifinals, 2-1.

Sunday will mark the seventh meeting between the Green Terror and Eagles in the last nine seasons with McDaniel having won four of the previous six contests.

McDaniel is led by senior Carver Neary and junior Charlie Olson, each of whom have 13 points this season. Olson leads the team with six goals while Neary has five. Senior Noah Rodriguez is third on the team with nine points which include a team-best seven assists, the most by a Green Terror since 2019.

In goal, junior Tate Roth has started in 17 of the team's 18 games with a 0.72 goals-against average, .769 save percentage, and seven shutouts.

Juniata (7-5-7), who advanced to the Landmark Conference championship game a year ago and went on to win the ECAC title, just missed the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Championship this season, finishing seventh in the conference standings. The Eagles are led by the junior tandem of Jayden Gaynor and Jase Colino who lead the team with five goals each. Gaynor also has two assists for a team-high 12 points.

Maxwell Mattioni has started all 18 games in goal this season and has a .061 goals-against average and an .825 save percentage with nine shutouts.

Each of the four pod winners from Sunday will go on to compete in the semifinals and championship next weekend, Nov. 22-23 at a site to be determined.
