VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Senior Chett Brunner and Nick Raumann led the McDaniel College men's indoor track & field team to a sixth place finish at the Richard Drake Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday.
The Green Terror placed sixth out of 11 teams with a total of 48 points. Christopher Newport finished first with 147.5 points.
Brunner finished first in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 15.56 meters, a mark that is ranked third in program history and currently 35th in Division III this season.
Raumann, who totaled a team-high 16 points, won the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:07.33, the 10th-fastest time in program history. He also placed third in the 5,000 meters in a time of 16:17.67.
Senior Tyren Proctor was the third different Green Terror to post a first-place finish, winning the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.38 seconds. He qualified for the finals with a time of 8.36 seconds in the prelims.
In the mile, sophomore Jack Sears placed third with a time of 4:29.91 to move into ninth in program history.
Sophomore Oral-Anthony Coleman placed sixth in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 7.08 seconds. He now owns each of the program's top-10 times in the event on performances list. He also placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 22.67 seconds.
Proctor placed 14th in the 200 with a time of 23.10 seconds, moving him into seventh in program history.
Freshman Keiron Wilson placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.82 meters while sophomore Christian Homer placed 15th with at 1.62 meters.
Homer placed ninth in triple jump with a jump of 12.91 meters while Wilson placed 11th at 12.90 meters. The duo now sit ninth and 10th, respectively, on the program's all-time list.
Homer placed 15th in the long jump with a distance of 5.94 meters and Wilson placed 20th with a jump of 5.35 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Jack Reiser, freshman Jerian Batty, freshman Kaydan Batty, and senior Tyler Richardson placed ninth with a time of 3:32.35.
Individually, Reiser placed 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.60 while Kaydan Batty placed 19th and Jerian Batty followed in 20th.
Junior Jacob Graham placed 17th in the weight throw with a mark of 11.62 meters.
McDaniel returns to action in just five days at the Blue & White Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday, Feb. 9.
