LANCASTER, Pa. - Senior Tyren Proctor won gold while setting a new meet record to lead the McDaniel College men's track & field team at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Sunday.
The Green Terror placed fifth out of nine teams with 55.5 points. Johns Hopkins won its 11th team championship with 187.5 points.
Proctor finished first in the 60-meter hurdles with a new championship meet record time of 8.29 seconds. Senior Kyle Hubbard placed seventh with a time of 9.26 seconds.
Senior Chett Brunner earned bronze in the shot put with a throw of 15.24 meters while sophomore Jayden Rodwell placed 12th with a throw of 12.01 meters. Senior Jake Conklin finished 13th with a mark of 11.92 meters.
Junior Oral-Anthony Coleman also won bronze in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.11 seconds.
Freshman Keiron Wilson finished in a tie for third in the high jump with a mark of 1.82 meters. Junior Alex Brown placed 11th.
Wilson led McDaniel in scoring this weekend, totaling 10.5 points.
Brown placed fourth in the heptathlon with a score of 4,011 points, the second-most in program history. He won the long jump with a mark of 6.46 meters and was third in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 7.30 seconds.
The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Jack Reiser, freshman Kaydan Batty, freshman Jerian Batty, and senior Tyler Richardson placed sixth with a time of 3:32.94.
Wilson placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.36 meters which is the eighth-best in program history. Brown placed 10th at 6.22 meters while sophomore Christian Homer placed 15th.
Coleman placed eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.05 seconds. Jones placed 27th and Hubbard was 28th.
Reiser was ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.41, the eighth-fastest time in program history. Junior Anders Madsen finished 12th at 2:00.71 and Sears placed 25th at 2:07.00.
Richardson finished 10th in the 400 meters with a time of 52.99 seconds. Kaydan Batty followed in 11th at 53.38 seconds and Jerian Batty placed 17th at 55.14 seconds.
Sears placed 13th in the mile with a time of 4:27.68, moving him to seventh in program history. Senior Nick Raumann placed 31st with a time of 4:39.81.
McDaniel returns to action next Saturday, March 2 for the South Region Final Qualifier at Shenandoah.
