HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Senior Tyler Richardson posted a win and a new program top-10 mark in the 600 meters Saturday to lead the McDaniel College men's indoor track & field team at the Larry Sharpe Invitational hosted by Hagerstown Community College.
There were no team scores.
Richardson crossed the line first in the 600 meters with a time of 1:30.15, the 10th-fastest time in program history. Freshman Jerian Batty placed second in 1:31.45 while senior Braden Fink came in with a time of 1:32.10.
Freshman Keiron Wilson won the high jump with a leap of 1.75 meters and junior Alex Brown took second with a mark of 1.70 meters. Sophomore Christian Homer and freshman Joshua Codrington tied for fourth jumping at 1.60 meters.
Sophomore Oral-Anthony Coleman won the 55-meter dash with a personal-best time of 6.56 seconds with Brown placing third in 6.81 seconds and Homer finishing fifth in 7.00 seconds. The Green Terror placed six runners in the top 10 as freshman Tarik Jones placed sixth in 7.09, freshman Chris Wilson was eighth in 7.31 seconds and Codrington was ninth in 7.36 seconds. Junior DaVaughn Joyner ran a personal-best 7.51 seconds to place 11th.
Senior Chett Brunner won the shot put for the second-straight day with a throw of 15.18 meters to lead five finishers in the top-10 for McDaniel. Sophomore Jayden Rodwell placed second with a throw of 11.81 meters while senior Jake Conklin placing third at 11.36 meters and freshman Jacob Gibson placed fifth at 10.46 meters. Brown followed in sixth at 9.78 meters and freshman Jamey Travers placed eighth at 9.40 meters.
Senior Nick Raumann won the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:12.77 and sophomore Jack Sears won the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:40.72. Raumann followed in second in 2:51.73, junior Sean Irwin placed third in 3:00.07 and junior Joc Baldacci came in fourth at 3:17.87.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Jerian Batty, Sears, sophomore Jack Resier and freshman Kaydan Batty finished first with a time of 3:36.49.
Senior Kyle Hubbard placed second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.39 seconds to move into seventh in program history while Brown placed third in 8.69 seconds. Freshman Roman Arensmeyer followed in fourth with a time of 8.85 seconds.
Senior John Geniti placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.79 meters and senior Jack McBride placed third with a personal-best of 3.64 meters. Brown took fifth at 3.04 meters.
Jones placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 24.68 seconds, freshman Braylon Johnson followed in third with a time of 24.71 seconds and senior Kyle Silver ran a time of 25.08 seconds to place sixth. Codrington placed ninth in 25.52 seconds, Chris Wilson followed in 10th at 25.90 seconds, Joyner placed 11th in 26.36 seconds and Arensmeyer 12th in 26.73 seconds, all personal bests.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Coleman, Brown, Hubbard, and Silver placed second with a time of 1:36.88.
Minutes after finishing the 1,000 meters, Baldacci placed fifth in the mile with a personal-best of 5:27.40.
Sears placed fifth in the 800 meters in 2:02.28 with junior Anders Madsen following in sixth at 2:04.18 and Kaydan Batty in seventh with a personal-best time of 2:05.13. Richardson placed ninth in 2:06.87, Reiser placed 11th in 2:13.37 and Brown placed 16th in 2:37.02.
McDaniel heads to Franklin & Marshall for the 2024 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships next Saturday, Feb. 24.
