Wilson Wins High Jump at Coach I Open Hosted by F&M

LANCASTER, Pa. - Freshman Keiron Wilson finished first with a program top-10 mark in the high jump to lead the McDaniel College men's indoor track & field team at the Coach I Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall Saturday.

Wilson won the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.80 meters which marks the fifth-best jump in program history. Sophomore Christian Homer placed sixth with a jump of 1.60 meters.

Wilson placed second in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 6.22 meters. Homer (6.22m), freshman Chris Wilson (5.55m), and senior DaVaughn Joyner (5.33m) rounded out the top five.

In the triple jump, Homer finished first with a jump of 12.73 meters, moving him into 10th-place in program history. Freshman Braylon Johnson finished fifth with a jump of 11.64 meters.

Junior Anders Madsen won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.94 while sophomore Jack Reiser placed third in 2:02.31. Sophomore Jack Sears took fifth with a time of 2:03.30. Freshman Kaydan Batty came in eighth and senior Nick Raumann finished 10th.
 
Reigning Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Week, senior Chett Brunner, won the shot put with a throw of 15.14 meters. Sophomore Jayden Rodwell had a personal-best of 11.88 meters to place fourth while senior Jake Conklin finished fifth with a mark of 11.69 meters. Freshman Jacob Gibson also had a personal best of 10.54 meters to place eighth.

Senior Tyren Proctor, the reigning Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week, finished first in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.55 seconds. Freshman Roman Arensmeyer took fourth in 10.52 seconds.

Senior John Geniti was the sixth different Green Terror to win an individual event, claiming the pole vault with a jump of 3.80 meters. Senior Jack McBride placed third with a mark of 3.20 meters.
 
Junior Jacob Graham placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.26 meters and sophomore AJ Iglesias placed eighth at 10.97 meters. Gibson placed ninth with a personal best of 10.35 meters while Conklin finished 10th.

Junior Oral-Anthony Coleman took second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.16 seconds while senior Kyle Silver took fifth with a personal-best time of 24.93 seconds. Johnson finished seventh, freshman Tarik Jones followed in eighth and Chris Wilson came in 10th.
 
The 4x400-meter relay team of Madsen, Reiser, Sears, and Kaydan Batty placed second with a time of 3:37.67. The team of Raumann, Arensmeyer, senior Braden Fink, and freshman Jerian Batty placed fourth with a time of 3:52.82.

Coleman placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.16 seconds and Proctor placed sixth in 7.46 seconds. Jones (7.51), Silver (7.72), Joyner (7.97), Chris Wilson (7.98) took spots eight through 11.

In the mile, Sears placed fourth in a time of 4:32.70 with Raumann taking seventh with a time of 4:39.23. Freshman Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama and junior Joc Baldacci both posted personal bests.

Jerian Batty finished fourth in the 400 meters with a personal best time of 55.51 seconds while Fink placed seventh in 59.65 seconds.

McDaniel returns to Franklin & Marshall next Saturday, Jan. 27 for the Mini-Dip Invitational.
