Allison tallies four goals, one assist in finale

THE SKINNY
Muhlenberg scored the final four goals of the third quarter to build a five-goal lead in a 19-14 win over McDaniel in the finale.

THE LEADERS  
Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) led the Green Terror with four goals, one assist, five draw controls, and three ground balls.
Emily Sheppard (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) added four goals of her own.

FOR THE FOES

• Samantha Eynon led the Mules with four goals and three assists.
• Emily Gaffney and Ariella Lerner added four goals each.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Emma Legacy (Deale, Md./St. Mary's) put McDaniel on the board first w ith a goal at the 12:21 mark before Gaby Kohr (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) found Emily Sheppard just 24 seconds later for an early 2-0 lead. Muhlenberg responded with a trio of goals to take a one-goal edge, including a goal and assist from Emily Gaffney. With 8:51 remaining Legacy once again tied the game but Gaffney responded again for the Mules. Back-to-Back goals from Sheppard gave McDaniel a 5-4 lead with 6:05 to play. Nicole Steiner and Kealey Allison traded goals in teh final 1:15 of the period to make it a 6-5 game.
• Allison stretched the lead to two just 28 seconds into the second quarter but three straight Muhlenberg tallies gave the hosts an 8-7 edge with 6:09 remaining. Sheppard and Eynon taded goals less than a minute apart to keep it a one-goal game at the intermission.
• After an early goal exchange of goals by Madeline Dill and Allison in the third quarter, the Mules rattled off four straight goals and built a 14-9 lead heading into the final period.
• Allison found Paris Conord (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) wiht 14:21 on the fourth-quarter clock before Legacy finished a solo run about 90 seconds later to cut the Muhlenberg lead to 14-11. Allison eventually got McDaniel as close as 15-13 with 8:38 showing but the Mules netted four of the final five goals for the victory.

THE INSIDE STORY
• It was the regular-season finale for both teams, which went into the day with a chance at the conference playoffs but lost out on tiebreakers to Swarthmore for the final spot in the five-team field.
Paris Conord's goal in the opening minute of the fourth quarter was the first of her career.
Emma Miller (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) tied her career high with 13 draw controls. McDaniel won 23 of the 33 as a team.
