THE SKINNY
Dickinson scored three runs in the seventh inning to overcome an early deficit and defeat McDaniel, 5-4.
THE LEADERS
• Connor Uhrig (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) led the Green Terror with two hits and two RBIs.
• Jake Smith (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) added two hits, an RBI, and run scored.
FOR THE FOES
• Kaden Sigmon led the Red Devils with two hits.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Jake Smith poked a one-out single to left in the top of the seventh before a two-out T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) single to right put two runners on base. After a failed pickoff attempt put two runners in scoring position, Connor Uhrig came through with a knock to center for a 2-0 lead. Billy Wheatley (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) followed with an RBI triple to stake McDaniel to a 3-0 lead.
• Singles from Luke Jackson and Kaden Sigmon around a strikeout in the bottom of the inning put runners at first and second. After both runners moved up a base on a groundout, Pat Harrington single into center made it a 3-2 game.
• Three walks around a Ryan Thompson single had the game tied with two outs and the bases loaded in the home seventh. An error allowed two runs to score for a 5-3 lead.
• Back-to-back one-out walks to Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and Austin Goudeaux (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) put the tying runs on base. Smith followed with a single but Lukas Atsalis threw out a runner at third and Alex Bouchard got a strikeout looking to keep it a one-run game. Beau Dana then worked around a two-out walk in the ninth to earn his fifth save for Dickinson.
