THE SKINNY
McDaniel and Swarthmore combined 52 hits in a doubleheader split. The Green Terror took game one 8-6 before the Garnet rallied late for a 12-10 victory in the nightcap.

THE LEADERS
Austin Goudeaux (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) led the Green Terror five hits on the afternoon, including a 3-for-3 opener.
Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) also had five hits that included a 4-for-4 game one.

FOR THE FOES
• Paul Cooke led the Garnet with five total hits, including four hits and four RBIs in game two.
• Zach Camp closed out the victory in the nightcap, striking out eight of the 13 batters he faced over the final four innings.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• A Kirk Terada-Herzer walk and Andrew Olsen double just inside the line staked Swarthmore to a 1-0 game one lead in the third inning.
Joey Hubinger led off the bottom of the inning with a single into shallow left before Austin Goudeaux poked a single up the middle. After a Jake Smith (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) single scored Hubinger and put runners at the corners, Jack Bayne (Timonium, Md./Towson) popped a ball into right for a 2-1 lead. T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) drew a walk to load the bases for Connor Uhrig (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson), who blasted a line drive over the left-field fence for a grand slam and 6-1 advantage.
• A Michael Sepe triple, back-to-back doubles and a sacrifice fly closed the deficit to 6-3 in the top of the third.
• A walk and hit batter to start the seventh put two runners on before they moved up on a sacrifice and scored on a Luke Mutz triple. Austin Burgee followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game.
• in the bottom of the frame, Billy Wheatley (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) dropped a one-out single into left before Shane Daly (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) also singled. A Tyler Yohn (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) walk loaded the bases Hubinger, who lifted a sacrifice fly to center to make it a 7-6 game. A wild pitch allowed Daly to score from third for an insurance run.
• Ryan Gibbons (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) worked out of trouble in both the eighth and ninth to earn his first collegiate win on the mound.
• Swarthmore jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game two. Three singles, including a two-run single by Paul Cooke, a walk, and a wild pitch accounted for the three runs.
• Smith led off the home second with a single before Bayne walked and McGuire was hit by a pitch. Uhrig drove a two-run knock through the left side before a Daly sacrifice fly tied the game.
• A Sepe triple and Cooke RBI groundout put Swarthmore right back in front in the top of the fourth.
• The Garnet stretched the lead to 8-3 with a four-run fifth that included home runs by Cooke and Nate Jbara.
• McDaniel, however, sent 12 batters to the plate in the bottom of the inning and scored seven runs for a 10-8 lead. Daly drove in two runs with a double before Yohn poked a single to also score two.
• Swarthmore plated an unearned run in the seventh before a two-run Silvestre home run capped a three-run eighth for a 12-10 final.

THE INSIDE STORY
• In addition the multiple-hit game-one outings by Joey Hubinger and Austin Goudeaux, Billy Wheatley also had two hits.
• Shane Daly, Jake Smith, and Connor Uhrg joined Goudeaux with two hits in game two.
