McDaniel won three of the four contested singles matches for a 4-3 win over Hood.
THE LEADERS
• Shawn Southard (Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos) led the Green Terror with a 2-0 day, teaming with Drew Ryder (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Southard then won No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Ryder was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at third singles to also cap a 2-0 day.
• Evan Darr (Frostburg, Md./Mountain Ridge) captured No. 1 singles, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 for the difference in the match.
FOR THE FOES
• Kyle Richardson and Clifford Hedin teamed for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Richardson added a 2-0 day by winning No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
• Irafan Hayiarwwae took the default win at fifth singles.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Third doubles and sixth singles were not contested with neither team having a player to put in the lineup. Thus, no points were awarded for either flight.
