THE SKINNY

THE LEADERS

FOR THE FOES
• Cael Magill went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored as part of a 20-hit attack for the Shoremen.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Three free passes, including a pair of hit batters, and a single loaded the bases in the second inning with two outs. Cael Magill poked a two-run single that just got passed the infield before a Danny Sheeler two-run double staked Washington to a 4-0 lead.
• Jack Bayne (Lutherville, Md./Towson) led off the bottom of the third with a single before T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) was hit by a pitch on a full count and Billy Wheatley (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) beat out a bunt hit to load the bases. Shane Daly followed with a two-run double to right before a Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) plated Whatley on a groundout. Tyler Yohn followed with an RBI knock through the left side to score Daly and tie the game.
• In the fourth, a Magill tripled scored Chris Baker to put the Shoremen back in front before Sheeler followed with a sacrifice fly for a 6-4 lead.
• A Daly two-out triple in the bottom of the frame plated Wheatley to make it a one-run game once again.
• CJ Gillmer doubled home Erik Risnychock for a 7-5 lead in the fifth before a Bake double, Magill single, and first-third double steal pushed the lead to 8-5 in the sixth.
• A three-run Gillmer home run in the seventh stretched the advantage to 11-5 before Daly reached on an error and moved to second on a wild pitch in the bottom of the frame. A Yohn two-out single made it an 11-6 game.
• Washington tacked on three more in the eight keyed by a Mike Bukowski two-run triple before a Ben Ruvo two-run poke to right made it 16-7 in the ninth.
• Daly led off the bottom of the ninth with a fly ball that carried to the track in straightway center, legging out an inside-the-park home run. Hubinger followed with a double to deep center before scoring on a Yohn single for the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
Shane Daly finished a single shy of his second cycle of the season.
• Eight of the nine Shoremen starters had no fewer than two hits. Ben Ruvo was also 2-for-2 after entering the game in the seventh inning.
