THE SKINNY

THE LEADERS
Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) led the Green Terror with three hits on the afternoon.

FOR THE FOES
• Martin Matsumura tossed eight innings for the Fords in game two, allowing three hits and one unearned run.
• Zach Becker had six hits to lead the offense.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the opener, Shane Daly (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) drew a walk to lead off the bottom of the first. After a groundout and fielder's choice put Tyler Yohn (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) on first base with two outs, Austin Goudeaux (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) drew a walk before Jake Smith (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) poked a double to the gap for a 2-0 lead.
• Harry Genth started the fourth inning with a single before stealing second. On a Zach Becker two-out infield single, a muffed throw allowed Genth to score and make it a 2-1 game.
• Daniel Rosman singled up the middle with one out in the fifth before Jonny Flieder struck his first home run out to right field for a 3-2 lead.
• Becker led off the sixth with a single. After he stole second, a Zach Crampton single put runners at the corners. Anthony Runfola laid down a safety squeeze for a 4-2 advantage.
• T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) drew a walk to open the home sixth before a Connor Uhrig (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) single and sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third. A Daly groundout to the right side scored McGuire before Joey Hubinger dropped a single into left to tie the game.
• Genth walked to start the seventh but was caught stealing before Zach Buck drew a second walk. A single and fielder's choice put runners at the corners for Landy. After a wild pitch, Landry singled to center with two outs to score both runners for the two-run lead.
• In game two, starting pitchers Martin Matsumura and Hunter Darke (Cumming, Ga./Forsyth Central) were locked in a pitchers' duel through five innings. The only run came in the top of the fifth when Genth poked a one-out double to left, stole third, and scored on an errant throw for a 1-0 Haverford lead.
• Becker opened the sixth with a double before a Landry single put runners at the corners. A Zach Crampton RBI ground out made it a 2-0 game before a Jack Wallis two-out single plated Landry for a. 3-0 advantage.
• A hit batter, wild pitch, stolen base, and Smith single made it 4-0 in the seventh.
• Keyed by a Becker two-run single in the eighth, the Fords tacked on three runs for a 7-0 lead.
• Daly walked to lead off the bottom of the inning before a wild pitch, error, and Goudeaux sacrifice fly broke up the shutout.
• McGuire was hit by a pitch with one out in the ninth before a Uhrig double and Billy Wheatley (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) RBI groundout made it 7-2. Daly followed with an RBI single for the final margin.
