Noll scores five times to keep unblemished start to season

THE SKINNY
McDaniel scored five straight goals in the fourth quarter to break open a 13-11 game and defeat Susquehanna, 18-13.

THE LEADERS
Acadia Noll (Ellicott City, Md./Marriots Ridge) led the Green Terror with five goals. She also had five ground balls, six draw controls, and three caused turnovers.
Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) added four goals and three assists to go with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Emma Legacy (Deale, Md./St. Mary's) notched her first career hat trick. She also had four draw controls.

FOR THE FOES
• Carolina Chase led the River Hawks with five goals and two assists.
• Liv Owen and Hannah McNamara added three goals and an assist apiece.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• McDaniel scored the first three goals of the game. Emma Miller (Ellicott City, Md./Marriots Ridge) and Emily Sheppard (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) finished solo runs two minutes apart for a 2-0 lead with 7:55 showing before an Acadia Noll free-position tally stretched the lead to 3-0 just 37 seconds later. Susquehanna responded with two goals fewer than 30 seconds apart on unassisted tallies by Liv Owen and Caroline Chase. Two more Noll goals and a Kealey Allison free-position tally in the final 2:39 of the first quarter pushed the lead to 6-2.
• The River Hawks, however, netted the first five of the second quarter for a 7-6 edge. Hannah McNamara and Chase each scored twice in the run. Emma Legacy capitalized in an advantage situtions, finding the back of the net with 56 seconds left to draw the visitors even at the break.
• Miller, Natalie Hoff (Westminster, Md./South Carroll), and Legacy accounted for a three-goal run in the first 4:26 of the third quarter. Susquehanna, however, tallied three of the next four to close the deficit to one with 5:24 showing. Allison found Lara Jensen (West Chester, Pa./The Tatnall School) for her second assist of the period, stretching the lead to 12-10 after three quarters.
• Legacy completed her hat trick with 9:56 on the clock before Kelsey Homberg answered a minute later. Allison then took over, contributing three goals and an assist in the game-clinching final run. After Allison scored an unassisted marker, she found Hoff with 7:07 to play. Hoff then returned the favor just over two minutes later. Noll wrapped up her five-goal outing off a Sheppard feed with 3:48 remaining before Allison scored an unassisted tally a minute later. Chase found McNamara with 1:12 to play before the McNamara returned the favor 24 ticks later for the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel is 3-0 to start a season for the first time since opening 2014 with four straight wins.
• The five goals and five points were both career bests for Acadia Noll.
• The Green Terror outshot Susquehanna, 41-29.
Emma Miller added five ground balls and five draw controls to her two goals.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Hood on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
