THE SKINNY
McDaniel scored 15 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to rally and defeat Wells 16-5 in a rain-shortened game at the Ripken Spring Break Experience.
THE LEADERS
• Jake Smith (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills) led the Green Terror with a 2-for-4 day, a walk, and scored two runs.
FOR THE FOES
• Aaron Izquierdo led the Express with two hits and three RBIs.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• With two outs in the top of the second, Evan Scala (Whiting, N.J./Manchester Twp.) doubled before scoring on a T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) single for a 1-0 lead.
• A two-out error in the home third, hit batter and Aaron Izquierdo single tied the game at 1-all.
• Wells loaded the bases on three walks in the fifth before singles from Max Odurn and Izquierdo made it a 4-1 game.
• Jake Smith led off the top of the sixth with a single before an error and Scala double made it a 4-2 game. After a McGuire single put runners at the corners in a 4-3 game, Jarod Pezzano (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) dropped down a squeeze bunt for a single to tie the game. Shane Daly (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) drew a walk to load the bases before a passed ball and Tyler Yohn (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) two-run single broke the deadlock. Two more walks reloaded the bases before a one-out Connor Uhrig (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) sacrifice fly made it an 8-4 game.
• In the bottom of the sixth, Wells drew two walks with one out before rain forced the teams from the field. A single and bases-loaded walk out of the delay closed the deficit to 8-5. After a strikeout looking, Austin Goudeaux (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) recovered on a ball to the backstop to nail a runner at the plate and end the inning.
• McDaniel then drew nine walks coupled with a pair of hits to scored eight more without recording an out. The rains then descended again and forced the game to be called.

• Tyler Yohn, Evan Scala, and T.J. McGuire all had two hits. McGuire added three RBIs.
