THE SKINNY
McDaniel scored seven times in the second inning to open up an 8-0 lead and got solid pitching to defeat Wells 12-1 in seven innings at the Ripken Spring Break Experience in Myrtle Beach.
THE LEADERS
• Ryan Kelly (Wyomissing, Pa./Wilson) led the Green Terror, throwing six shutout innings. He struck out seven and walked just one while scattering four hits.
• Shane Daly (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) paced the offense with a 4-for-5 day, including a triple.

• Max Odum led the Express with two hits.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Shane Daly led off the bottom of the first with a single before and error, stolen base, and passed ball gave McDaniel a 1-0 lead.
• Jack Valentine (Hockessin, Del./Sanford School) drew a one-out walk in the second before scoring on a Daly triple. A Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) walk, error, passed ball and Austin Goudeaux (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) sacrifice fly pushed the lead to 4-0. Another error, Billy Wheatley (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) RBI double and Evan Scala (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) made it 6-0 with runners at first and second. T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) singled home both runners to stretch the lead to eight.
• Daly led off the third with a single before stealing second and scoring on a Hubinger double.
• Another Scala walk, stolen base, and Valentine one-out single made it 10-0 in the fourth.
• After Valentine singled and Daly doubled with one out in the sixth, Tyler Yohn (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) doubled with two outs for a 12-0 lead.
• Bradley Mills singled to start the top of the seven before eventually scoring on a two-out Justin Colindres single to prevent the shutout.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The seven strikeouts by Ryan Kelly were the most in any outing by a Green Terror pitcher this season.
• McDaniel drew nine walks on the day while issuing just one.
