THE SKINNY
McDaniel scored just 15 seconds into the game and then scored 10 of the game's final 11 goals to blow open the game and top Elizabethtown, 19-5.
THE LEADERS
• Natalie Hoff (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) led the Green Terror with a career-high four goals and two assists for a career-best six points.
• Emma Miller (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) added four goals and two assists of her own while also pulling down eight draw controls.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Emma Miller opened up the scoring early for McDaniel, finishing a Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) assist before finding Natalie Hoff for a 2-0 lead just 2:09 into the contest. Kate Ziegler cut the deficit in half just 21 seconds later. Hoff, however, found Emma Legacy (Deale, Md./St. Mary's) a miunte later to spark a three-goal run. Lara Jensen (West Chester, Pa./The Tatnall School) and Allison each scored unassisted tallies for a 5-1 lead midway through the opening quarter. A Ziegler unassisted tally momentarily halted the run with 5:53 showing but Hoff found Emily Sheppard (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) and took a solo run to the cage to push the lead to 7-2. Ziegler and Miller traded tallies to make it 8-3 after one quarter.
• An Allison free-position tally in the advantage opened up the second quarter before Ziegler responded with a player-advantage goal of her own at the 7:34 mark. With three minutes to go until half, Mary Kate Clothier (Lumberton, N.J./Holy Cross Academy) scored off a free position before Allison hit a second from the 8-meter arc and Miller scored unassisted to take a 12-4 lead at the break.
• After Jensen and Hannah Cressman traded markers in teh first four minutes of the third quarter, Hoff bookended a Miller goal for a 16-5 lead after three quarters. Katie Baur (Elkridge, Md./Howard) scored in her second goal in two games on a free-position shot before Clothier scoring her second of the game, taking her defender one-on-one from the outside. With 2:32 left to play, Allie Ballard (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) found a cutting Michaela Reid (Abingdon, Md./Patterson Mill) for the final tally.
THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel finished with a 40-26 advantage in shots.
• Caroline Ramsey (Sinking Spring, Md./Wilson) made 11 saves in goal. She also had three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
• Allie Ballard's assist with 2:32 to play was her first collegiate point.
• The Green Terror doubled up Elizabethtown in draw controls, 18-9.
• McDaniel opens a season 5-0 for the first time since 2007.
