THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel rallied from a three-goal deficit early in the third quarter with seven straight goals en route to a 14-10 victory at Shenandoah.
THE LEADERS
• Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) led the the Green Terror with six goals. She added four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
• Emma Miller (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) added three goals and one assist. She also corralled seven draw controls.
• Acadia Noll (Ellicott City, Md./Marriots Ridge) chipped in a third hat trick fro McDaniel.
FOR THE FOES
• Emma Stiffler led the Hornets with four goals and two assists.
• Reilly Cisar added three goals of her own.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Acadia Noll opened the scoring off the first of three Natalie Hoff (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) just 3:21 into the game but Shenandoah responded with the next four goals, including back-to-back finishes by Reilly Cisar, to take a 4-1 lead. with 6:38 to play in the opening quarter. Emma Legacy (Deale, Md./St. Mary's) and Noll scored 19 seconds apart to close the deficit to 4-3 after the first period.
• Kealey Allison wasted no time tying the game, taking and finishing a pass from Lara Jensen (West Chester, Pa./The Tatnall School) just 21 seconds into the quarter. Emma Stiffler converted a free-position tally and Natalie Nichols finished a Stiffler pass with 1:43 remaining in the opening half for a 6-4 lead at halftime.
• Emma Stiffler stretched the lead to 7-4 with 10:18 remaining but a Jensen-to-Noll connection 14 ticks later started the game-changing run. An Allison free-position goal at the 8:25 mark made it a one-goal game before Emma Miller tied teh game with 4:02 on the clock. Miller then found Allison with 17 seconds remaining and Hoff hit Miller just before the final horn to make it a 9-7 Green Terror lead.
• Allison and Lillian Kim (Frederick, Md./Urbana) finished solo runs just over two minutes apart to push the lead to 11-7 with 9:11 on the clock. Cisar momentarily halted the run but two more Allison goals and a second Hoff-to-Miller connection – this time in a player-advantage situation – stretched the advantage to six with 5:00 to play. Madison Re and Stiffler finished unassisted tallies in the last 3:59 to set the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Caroline Ramsey (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) backstopped the defense with a career-high 12 saves. She also had four ground balls.
• McDaniel had a 31-29 edge in shots.
