THE SKINNY
McDaniel used an 11-1 run to break open a 4-3 game, building an 11-goal lead after three quarters en route to an 18-6 victory over Goucher in the season opener for both teams.

• Lillian Kim (Frederick, Md./Urbana) led the Green Terror with four goals.
• Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) added two goals and seven draw controls.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Kealey Allison finished a Natalie Hoff (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) feed jsut 54 seconds into the game. Unassisted tallies by Acadia Noll (Ellicott City, Md./Marriots Ridge) and Emma Miller (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) stretched the lead to 3-0 midway through the opening quarter. Goals from Emily Burk and Julia Gazzola around a second Allison tally closed the margin to 4-2 at the end of the first quarter.
• Gazzola converted on a player-advantage to make it 4-3 with 10:08 to play in the second quarter before the first of Lillian Kim's four goals with 9:30 remaining sparked the game-changing run. Noll found Michaela Reid (Abingdon, Md./Patterson Mill) for the sophomore's first collegiate goal before Kim finished a Hoff feed for a 7-3 lead. Miller capped a four-goal burst in less than two minutes to push the advantage to five. A second Noll tally and third from Gazzola made it a 9-4 game at the break.
• Five different players contributed in a 6-0 third quarter. Lara Jensen (West Chester, Pa./The Tatnall School) contributed two goals and an assist duirng the stretch while Emily Sheppard (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) scored twice. Kim completed her first collegiate hat trick in the quarter while Reid scored her second of the day.
• Goals from Elizabeth Green and Gazzola in the first 7:22 of the fourth quarter dropped the advantage to single digits but Kim capped her four-goal day just 37 seconds after that to push the lead back to 10. Gaby Kohr (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) scored her first collegiate goal with 4:20 to play before Mary Kate Clothier (Lumberton, N.J./Holy Cross Academy) capped the scoring with her first tally of the year.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The four goals were a career high for Lillian Kim, who recorded the first multiple-goal game of her career.
• Acadia Noll added four draw controls, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers. She was also one of six starters to record two goals.
• Emma Miller also grabbed four draw controls as part of a 16-10 advantage for the Green Terror on the day.
• McDaniel finished with a 44-8 advantage in shots.
