Where: Westminster, Md.

THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel scored in all phases on the game, including setting the tone with a 58-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the first five minutes to key a 27-9 win over Juniata in the Centennial Conference (CC) opener for both teams.

THE LEADERS
• Barry Amos (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) had the 58-yard return for a score off a botched snap on a field-goal attempt.
• Mike Dunn (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Treasure Coast) had a 22-yard interception return for a score to go with five tackles.

FOR THE FOES
• JR Harrison led the Eagles with nine tackles and a forced fumble.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Juniata drove the opening possession of the game 31 yards on 11 plays but the defense held on a third-and-5 from the McDaniel 25 to force a 42-yard field-goal attempt. The snap, however, was errant and Barry Amos picked it up and raced to the endzone for a 7-0 lead with 10:25 to play in the first quarter.
• The Green Terror took its first possession 12 plays and chewed up 5 minutes, 42 seconds before the drive stalled in the red zone. Peyton Denlinger (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) capped the drive with points, however, converting a 27-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead with 2:38 to play in the quarter.
• The teams traded punts before Mike Dunn intercepted the first Juniata pass of the second quarter and took it 22 yards to the house for a 17-0 lead with 12:59 showing.
• The Eagles got on the board with a 40-yard Beckett Leary field goal at the first half ended.
• Denlinger once again capped a long drive with a field goal. McDaniel methodically moved the ball 69 yards in 19 plays over the first 8:36 of the third quarter before the Denlinger 26-yarder for a 20-3 advantage.
Jonathan Thompson's (Nanjemoy, Md./Lackey) first three collegiate rushes accounted for the entirety of a 25-yard drive, including breaking a 17-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-2 to make it a 27-3 game with 13:16 remaining.
• A Noah Wright-to-Isaiah Collison 15-yard touchdown pass capped the scoring with 4:54 to play.

THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel outgained Juniata 285-217 on the day, including 157-56 on the ground.
• The Green Terror rush defense limited its second straight opponent to fewer than 100 yards on the day.
• Barry Amos' fumble return for a touchdown was the first for McDaniel since Garvin Brooms on Sept. 23, 2017 against Gettysburg. The Mike Dunn interception return was the first since Oct. 20, 2018 (Nah'shon Godfrey against Muhlenberg).
