Dickinson won three of the four contested singles matches to cap an 8-1 victory over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS
• Del Carden (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) led the Green Terror with his first individual victory in collegiate singles play, taking a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the second slot. He and Luke Szukalski (Frederick, Md./St. Maria Goretti) battled to an 8-4 setback at first doubles.
FOR THE FOES
• Thomas Griffin led the Red Devils with a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Luke Szukalski took his first set at No. 1 singles to a 7-5 decision with Leonid Sorkin but then Sorkin completed the straight-set win with a 6-1 second set.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Dickinson earned forfeit wins at third doubles and fifth and sixth singles.
