On a day where both teams had just four players, Washington (Md.) prevailed with a 6-0 win over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS
• Del Carden (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) led the Green Terror in both singles and doubles. He and Luke Szukalski (Frederick, Md./St. Maria Goretti) dropped a close 8-5 decision to Landon Strober and Ian Hewes. Hewes then topped Carden in a tightly-contested second singles match, 6-3, 6-4.
FOR THE FOES
• Christian Gruyon led the Shoremen, going 2-0 without dropping a game. He and Andrew Province won second doubles, 8—0. Gruyon then took No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
THE INSIDE STORY
• With only four players for each team, third doubles and fifth and sixth singles all resulted in double forfeits.
