THE REST OF THE STORY
• Megan Jackson found Marissa McGarrey to stake Franklin & Marshall to a 1-0 lead just 2:22 into the game before Kate McLam finished a solo run to double the advantage 36 seconds later. After a Maisie O'Shea free-position tally stretched the lead to 3-0, Acadia Noll scored twice in a 2-minute, 46-second span to trim the deficit to one. Ally Marino, however, finished a feed from Gillian Brennan to start a four-goal run by the Diplomats to stretch the lead to 7-2. Nancy Taylor capped the 9-minute, 37-second run with her first of the day at the 7:17 mark. After Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) and Taylor traded markers, Abby Blankenship (Urbanna, Va./Christchurch) finished the second of two Emma Miller (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) first-half helpers with 2:25 remaining to cut the deficit to 8-4 at the break.
• Megan Jackson and Sarah Delaney pushed the advantage to 10-4 in the first 1:33 of the second half before a Lily Kim (Frederick, Md./Urbana) unassisted goal momentarily halted the momentum with 23:10 to play. Taylor, however, found the back of the net once again to ignite the game-clinching run. Noll capped her hat trick with a free-position goal in the final 1:42.
