THE LEADERS
• Austin Goudeaux (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) led the Green Terror with three hits, an RBI, and two runs scored.
• T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) added three hits to go with three RBIs and two runs scored.
• Jack Vener (Easton, Md./St. Michael's) pitched five innings of relief in game two, fanning a career-high nine.
FOR THE FOES
• Max Ruvo led Washington with seven hits in the twinbill. He went 3-for-4 with three runs scored in the opener before going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs in game two. He had two doubles and a home run.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Max Ruvo led off the bottom of the first with a double before moving to third on a wild pitch and scoring on a Jack Klingman RBI groundout.
• Dylan Nepert led off the second with a home run before a CJ Gillmer single and two-out Ben Ruvo home run stretched the lead to 4-0.
• A Danny Sheeler two-run double pushed the lead to 6-0 in the third before a Max Ruvo leadoff home run in the fourth made it 7-0.
• Five free passes led to another two runs in the sixth for a 9-0 advantage.
• Billy Wheatley (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) was hit by a pitch to lead off the seventh before a Tyler Yohn (Dillsburg, Md./Northern York) one-out home run broke up the shutout.
• The Shoremen responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to set the final margin.
• In game two, Ruvo led off with a single before an error put two runners on. A one-out Joe Curtain single plated Ruvo before Gilmer scored two more with a two-out single.
• Wheatley and T.J. McGuire led off the second with back-to-back walks before a sacrifice bunt and Goudeaux sacrifice fly made it a 3-1 game.
• A two-run Chris Baker double keyed a three-run second to push the lead to 6-1.
ª Washington tacked on three more runs over the next two innings for a 9-1 advantage.
• McGuire opened the seventh with a single before Goudeaux singled with one out to put runners at the corners. A pair of wild pitches scored both runners to make it a 9-3 contest.
• A Ben Ruvo walk and Max Ruvo double made it 10-3 after seven.
• Yohn and Connor Uhrig (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) each singled to lead off the top of the eighth before Wheatley was hit by a pitch to load the bases. A McGuire two-run double and back-to-back one-out walks coupled with an RBI groundout trimmed the deficit to 10-8.
• An error and pair of singles loaded the bases with no outs in the visitor ninth. A McGuire RBI groundout scored Yohn to make it a one-run game before a Matt Purnell (Reisterstown, Md./Boys' Latin School of Maryland) jacked a three-run home run to right-center for a 12-10 lead.
• With one out in the bottom of the frame, three straight singles tied the game at 12-all with Max Ruvo standing at first base as the game-winning run. Baker roped a double to the gap to end it and complete the sweep.
