THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
• Kyle Petak (Manassas Park, Va./Manassas Park) led the Green Terror with two hits and three RBIs in the opener before starting a key triple play to get out of a bases-loaded jam in game two.
• Julian Jenkins (Tempe, Ariz./Desert Vista) had two knocks in each game and also drew three walks in the twinbill.
• Ryan Martino (Brooklyn, N.Y./Millennium Brooklyn) went the distance in game one with four strikeouts. He scattered three hits and did not walk any in the complete-game shutout.
FOR THE FOES
• Ethan Angress led the Beavers with a 2-for-3 game two.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• With one out in the third inning of game one, Julian Jenkins dropped a single into right field before an Isaiah Ishmail (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) single over the third-base bag put two on. Jenkins stole third before a two-out wild pitch on a strikeout allowed him to score for a 1-0 lead. Kyle Petak followed with a two-run single to the gap for a 3-0 advantage.
• A T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) leadoff double and Petak one-out single in the fifth pushed the lead to 4-0.
• Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) and Jarod Pezzano (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) drew back-to-back walks to start the sixth. After a wild pitch, Jenkins tripled to the wall in right-center to stretch the lead to 6-0. Ishmail followed with an RBI single through the left side and moved to second on a balk. A McGuire RBI single pushed the lead to 8-0.
• Ryan Martino allowed a two-out single up the middle in the top of the seventh but induced a game-ending double play for his first collegiate shutout.
• Cooper York and Stephen Peters put together back-to-back singles with one out in the top of the first of game two. A two-out fielding error allowed both runners to score and staked CCNY to a 2-0 advantage.
• Jenkins led off the home half of the inning with a single and stole second. After moving to third on a groundout, he scored on a McGuire single over the first-base bag. A two-out walk to Petak and wild pitch put runners at second and third before two throwing errors and a Tom Daly (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) single gave McDaniel a 4-2 lead. Back-to-back walks to Pezzano and Jenkins forced in another run for a 5-2 advantage after one.
•Alex Erwin led off the fourth inning with a single to left. After a pair of wild pitches around a hit batter, Sardar Kahnbilvardi beat out an infield single to plate Erwin and cut the deficit to 5-3. Ethan Angress had another infield hit to force a pitching change. Josh Moreno sent an 0-1 Nathan Miller (Edinburg, Va./Stonewall Jackson) into right field. With the runners off on contact, Petak made the catch and fired into McGuire at first base for the second out. McGuire turned and fired to Hubinger covering at second for the third out of the inning. The Beavers had just two baserunners over the final three innings.
