THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
• T.J. McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) led the Green Terror with five hits in the two games.
FOR THE FOES
• Bryce Runey led the Eagles with six hits, including four in game two.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the opener, Bryce Runey drew a two-out walk in the bottom of the first before moving to second on a balk and third on a passed ball. After another walk, Norman Holcomb singled home Runey for a 1-0 lead before an error made it 2-0. A steal of second and a third walk loaded the bases for Chris Rubano, who singled to right field for a 4-0 advantage. A first-third double steal capped the five-run first inning.
• T.J. McGuire led off the top of the second with a single before singles from Kyle Petak (Manassas Park, Va./Manassas Park) and Spencer Piercey (Glen Mills, Pa./Bayard Rustin) loaded the bases. Jarod Pezzano (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) followed with an RBI single. Isaiah Ismail (Cherry Hill, N.J.) drew a walk to force in McGuire before a Julian Jenkins (Tempe, Ariz./Desert Vista) sacrifice fly made it 5-3.
• In the third, McGuire and Petak led off the frame with singles before a Pezzano one-out knock to right made it a 5-4 game.
• Christian Hague drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the inning before moving to second on a groundout, stealing third and scoring on a Canon Davies sacrifice fly to push the lead back to two.
• With two outs in the home fourth, Runey homered to left before a walk, infield single and error stretched the lead to 9-4.
• The Eagles tacked on another run in the fifth on a Jonathan Sedmak RBI double after a two-out error prolonged the frame.
• A two-out error in the top of the seventh prolonged that frame for the Green Terror. Billy Wheatley (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) and Joey Hubinger (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) each singled before another error allowed Wheatley to score and make it a 10-6 game.
• In the nightcap, Jenkins drew a leadoff walk before an error and one-out hit by pitch loaded the bases. Tom Daly (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) drew a walk to force in Jenkins before Ishmail scored on a wild pitch. A walk to Hubinger reloaded the bases before Wheatley rapped a two-run single to center and Jack Slater (Hebron, Conn./Rham) walked to load the bases yet again. Will Strauss (Freeport, N.Y./Waldorf) forced in Hubinger with a sixth free pass of the inning. A Jenkins sacrifice fly capped the six-run first inning.
• A Petak one-out single and error put a runner at second for Daly, who singled down the line to push the advantage to 7-0. Back-to-back two-out knocks by Wheatley and Slater pushed the lead to 8-0 before Slater was able to stay in a rundown long enough to allow Wheatley to score for a 9-0 advantage.
• Holcomb and Sam Freeborn notched back-to-back singles to start the home second. After a fielder's choice and stolen base put runners at second and third with one out, Hyatt Hurst and Xavier Herring rapped back-to-back singles to make it a 9-2 game.
• After a leadoff error in the fifth, Runey doubled and Hague singled to make it a 9-3 game. Holcomb tripled home both runners to cut the deficit to 9-5 before a pinch-hit RBI groundout from Davies plated Holcomb to make it 9-6. After a pitching change, Rubano laced a pinch-hit RBI single before Garrett Lyon also singled to put runners at the corners. After a steal of second, a wild pitch on a strikeout closed the margin to 9-8. Runey and Hague added back-to-back RBI singles for a 10-9 lead, capping the eight-run frame.
• A two-out single from Hubinger, wild pitch, walk and RBI knock from Slater drew the game even in the top of the sixth.
• Davies and Angstadt led off the bottom of the inning with singles. After a wild pitch and stolen base, Rubano drew a walk to load the bases. Two-run singles from Lyon and Sedmak capped the comeback win with four runs in the frame.
