THE REST OF THE STORY

After a Kaitlyn Morris free-position tally cut the deficit in half, Mary Kate Clothier (Lumberton, N.J./Holy Cross Academy) finished high to push the lead back to two. A Jordyn Miller free-position marker once again cut the deficit to one with 24:23 to play before Acadia Noll (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) found a cutting Arcilesi with 20:58 on the clock. Emily Sheppard hit Kealey Allison 90 seconds later for a 5-2 lead.
• An Alyson Bittinger free-position tally with 18:13 remaining started a 5-0 Hornet run over the next 14:37 to turn the three-goal deficit into a two-goal lead. A Nikki Zerna unassisted marker and free-position goals from Bittinger, Cassie Arndt and Emma Stiffler accounted for the run. Abby Blankenship (Urbanna, Va./Christchurch) finished the half with a free-position goal of her own to cut the margin to one with 2:24 remaining in the first half.
• Another Morris free-position goal 59 seconds into the second half started another 6-0 run. Bittinger and Morris each scored twice in the stretch. Sheppard hit a free-position goal with 18:13 to play to half the run. Morris found Alexandra Simonson before Simonson turned around and hit Macy Tignor nearly four minutes apart for a 15-7 lead with 13:27 remaining. Allison bookended a 3-0 run around a Noll solo run to cut the deficit to 15-10 with 5:49 to play. Allison's first goal was over her head off a loose ball while her second of the run came directly off a draw control win. Bittinger capped the game, scoring with 2:01 to ply.
