THE SKINNY STORY
Swarthmore scored four goals late to take a three-goal lead in the final minute and top McDaniel, 14-12.

THE LEADERS
Lindsey Farrell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) led the Green Terror with three goals, an assist and six draw controls.
• Annemarie Duerr (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) added a hat trick of her own.

FOR THE FOES
• Julia Ostrowski led the Garnet with three goals and an assist.
• Sophie Peipher added three goals of her own.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Elizabeth Wainwright and Kathryn Restrepo scored just over two minutes apart to stake Swarthmore to a 2-0 lead at the 27:32 mark. An Annemarie Duerr free-position tally cut the deficit in half and started a four-goal counter with 24:55 showing. Lindsey Farrell finished a solo run before hitting Duerr for a 3-2 lead with 21:18 remaining. Kealey Allison (Frankford, Del./Indian River) finished a Megan Kotelchuck (Crofton, Md./Elizabeth Seton) assist for a 4-2 lead with 18:50 on the clock.
• After Tess Wild and Kotelchuck traded goals, Wainwright started a three-goal Swarthmore run that put the hosts in front 6-5 with 4:53 to play in the opening half. Farrell and Sophie Peipher traded goals 53 seconds apart for a 7-6 game entering the break.
Tori Arcilesi (Bel Air, Md./Harford Tech), Farrell and Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) all scored unassisted goals in the first 8:13 of the second half for a 9-7 edge. Restrepo responded a minute and a half later before Julie Ostrowski drew the game even at 9-all with 19:19 on the clock. Duerr and Ostrowski traded goals 64 seconds apart to keep the game even.
• The teams then went 10 minutes without a goal before Lara Jensen (West Chester, Pa./The Tatnall School) put McDaniel in front 11-10 with 7:46 showing. Two Peipher goals in a 51-second span turned the one-goal deficit into one-goal lead with 6:21 remaining. Wild and Mackenzie Frost stretched the lead to 14-11 with 49 seconds remaining before Quattrone scored with 11 ticks remaining for the final score.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Each team took 29 shots in the game. Swarthmore had a 17-10 advantage in draw controls.

McDaniel returns to action at home against No. 2 Gettysburg on Wednesday. Game time is 4 p.m.
