THE SKINNY STORY

Julian Jenkins (Tempe, Ariz./Desert Vista) added two hits of his own that included a triple.

FOR THE FOES
• CJ Gillmer led the Shoremen with three hits and three RBIs.
• Aaron Barclay and Luke D'Ostillio added three hits each.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Ben Ruvo led off the game with a single before a fielder's choice put CJ Gillmer at first with one out. After a ground out, Luke D'Ostillio reached on an infield single before a throwing error staked Washington to a 1-0 lead.
• In the bottom of the frame, DJ Biscoe (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) reached on a one-out single to shallow left before a Tim Griest (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) walk. After a two-out walk loaded the bases, TJ McGuire (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) singeld up the middle to score Biscoe and Griest for a 2-1 edge.
• Ruvo led off the third with a single before stealing second and taking third on a bunt single. An Aaron Barclay single through the left side tied the game.
• Ryan Colbert and Max Ruvo led off the fourth with back-to-back singles before a wild pitch put two runners in scoring position with two outs. Gillmer singled into center field to score both runners for a 4-2 lead.
• Three straight singles started the fifth before a Dylan Nepert double down the line made it a 6-2 game.
• An pair of seventh-inning errors coupled with a walk, hit batter and two singles accounted for a three-run inning that pushed the lead to 9-2.
• Griest led off the bottom of the seventh with a single before taking third on a throwing error and scoring on a first-third double steal.
• The Shoremen tacked on two more in the eight courtesy of a Max Hammond RBI single and Max Ruvo sacrifice fly.
