Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel built an 8-2 halftime lead before holding on to top Ursinus 14-11 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Olivia Geiger (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) led the Green Terror (5-6, 1-3 CC) with six goals and an assists as well as seven draw controls. Franny Liberatoscioli led the Bears (2-8, 0-4 CC) with four goals and three caused turnovers.

Farrell staked McDaniel to a 1-0 laed just 2:27 into the game before Emily Brownawell (Sparks, Md./Oldsfield) hit Megan Kotelchuck (Crofton, Md./Elizabeth Seton) to double the advantage just over four minutes later.

Kotelchuck then found Annemarie Duerr (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) for a 3-0 at the 21:06 mark.

Emily DiGiorgio broke up the shutout on Ursinus' first shot of the game 1 minute, 20 seconds later.

Goals from Duerr and Olivia Maenner (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) made it a 5-1 game with 12:25 remaining in the opening half.

After Liberatoscioli's first goal with 7:38 on the clock, two Geiger markers and a Kotelchuck goal pushed the lead to 8-2 at the break.

Kaci McNeave scored 1:40 into the second half to start a five-goal run that closed the deficit to 8-7 just 10 minutes into the second half.

Geiger, however, bookended a three-goal counter to stretch the advantage back to four. Mia Wilson (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) netted her first collegiate goal during the run, finding the back of the net off a Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) pass with 16:43 on the clock.

The Bears weren't done, however, scoring the next three to close to within 11-10 with 5:51 to play.

Geiger had the answer once again, scoring just 47 seconds later. Duerr then added a free-position goal with 3:23 on the clock before DiGiorgio and Geiger traded solo runs in the final 2:58.

Duerr finished with three goals while Farrell added three caused turnovers to her eight draws. McDaniel outshot Ursinus 44-22 in the game, including 30-2 in the decisive first half.
