Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – McDaniel pounded out 24 hits to open its trip to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational with a sweep of Curry in non-conference baseball action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (3-1) won the opener 9-0 before completing the sweep with an 11-5 win.

Jordan Rhodes (Fawn Grove, Pa./McDonogh [Md.]) struck out eight in six innings, scattering four hits for the win in the opener.

Jhonathan Oliveria led the Colonels (0-2) with three hits.

In the opener, Brett Anderson (Wilmington, Del./Tower Hill) drew a walk to lead off the bottom of the first before Curry got the next two batters out.

A Kasey Nelson (St. Pete's Beach, Fla./St. Michaels [Md.]) double scored Anderson and started a stretch of six straight McDaniel batters to reach.

A passed ball on a strikeout and an error prolonged the frame. Brad Thaxton (Stevensville, Md./DeMatha) had a double to the gap to score Nelson while Colin Franke (Highland Mills, N.Y./Cornwall Central) and Julian Jenkins (Tempe, Ariz./Desert Vista) capped the run with RBI singles.

A Thaxton two-out RBI single in the second made it a 5-0 game.

A pair of errors and an Anderson infield single made it a 6-0 game in the third before a Nelson sacrifice fly pushed the advantage to 7-0.

Singles from Anderson and Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) set the final margin in the fifth.

Rosanova finished game one with three hits while Anderson and Thaxton had two hits each.

In game two, a Rosanova two-run triple before Nelson drove him in for a 3-0 lead in the top of the third.

Franke and Anderson reached with infield singles in the second before a two-run DJ Biscoe (Millersville, Md./Old Mill) double made it a 5-0 game.

Biscoe later scored on a Nelson RBI knock for a 6-0 lead.

Two singles and two walks helped Curry score twice in the third before a Tim Griest (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) triple keyed a five-run fourth inning that stretched the lead to 11-2.

The Colonels tacked on a pair of runs in the fifth and one in the seventh for the final score.

The Green Terror returns to action against Fitchburg State on Sunday. Game time is 9:15 a.m.
